There is something about fall family pictures that makes me want to slow down and enjoy the season a little longer. The changing leaves, warm colors, and beautiful evening light make fall one of my favorite times of year for family photography in Utah County.
The Thompson family returned for another family photography session this year, and I was so happy to have them back in front of my camera. One of my favorite parts of being a family photographer is getting to watch families grow from year to year. The kids change, personalities develop, and somehow every session feels familiar while still being completely different.
Their fall mini session in Spanish Fork was the perfect way to document this season of their family. Mini sessions are especially great for families who want updated pictures without committing to a longer session. We can get a variety of traditional family portraits along with the little in-between moments that show everyone's personality.

Spanish Fork is one of my favorite areas for fall family pictures because there are so many beautiful options throughout southern Utah County. Open fields, mountain views, warm fall colors, and beautiful natural light make it easy to create portraits that feel timeless without being overly posed.
When I photograph families, I want everyone to feel comfortable rather than spending the entire session standing perfectly still and smiling at the camera. Some of my favorite images are the ones where families are laughing, interacting, walking together, or simply enjoying one another.
